Reviews coming!

Hey everyone!

I'm Collin Sims, welcome all to my new blog! I've loved movies all my life and I wanted to share my passion with you all.

I decided to start this blog recently and it was a decision I put off for a long time. I have been hesitant to do this since it seems there's a large amount of people who write about movie reviews, but in the past few months I've really become a huge fan of Screen Junkies, Chris Stuckmann and The Flick Pick. Those guys have inspired me to start my own platform. As Stuckmann said (and I'm heavily paraphrasing here, so Chris please don't sue me if you read this), very few things are original and it's your personality....who you are...that makes it unique.

Hopefully that's true for me and my writing! If not, then I'll guess I'll have to try harder...which is part of my personality most of the time anyway.

As most of you know or are aware of, summer is the big movie season for a lot of studios as it is when kids are out of school, vacations are planned, and the big tentpoles (which here is a word meaning big budget movies) come out. For me, the last two summers haven't had a TON of movies I was excited to see but it looks like this summer is going to be VERY different.

It looks like there is at least one good movie coming out a week, sometimes multiple, so I'll definitely keep busy and share with you guys which movies are good, which are meh and which are just bleh. Like Stuckmann, I grade on a scale of A+ all the way down to F. I also plan on doing thoughts and posts on movies in my collection and on the AFI Top 100 Movies list since I plan on going through that this year as well.

Considering I'm updating my movie collection from DVD to Blu-Ray, I may share some of my hauls here too. Here is the current list of movies I plan on reviewing all the way through this summer:

  • Alien: Covenant
  • Everything, Everything
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
  • Baywatch
  • Wonder Woman
  • Captain Underpants
  • The Mummy
  • The Room (been meaning to see this one for a VERY long time)
  • It Comes at Night
  • Cars 3
  • All Eyez on Me
  • Rough Night
  • Transformers: The Last Knight
  • The Book of Henry
  • Baby Driver
  • Despicable Me 3
  • Spider-Man: Homecoming
  • War for the Planet of the Apes
  • Dunkirk
  • Atomic Blonde
  • The Dark Tower
  • Detroit
  • Ingrid Goes West
  • The Only Living Boy in New York
  • The Hitman's Bodyguard
If you all have any movies this summer, you want me to review that aren't on the list please let me know. I'll do my best to accommodate.

Stay tuned!
